15 Time Management Tips

Time management can be tricky sometimes. It can be hard to find a way to manage everything in your life while also have a social life etc. That’s why I decided to help you out today.
This blog post is all about Time Management Tips.

Time Limit

Make a time limit for fx 30 min – 1 hour for each task that you have. This way you’ll be more efficient to get the tasks done since you’ll be pressured by the time limit. When you only have a certain amount of time to complete a task the adrenaline will kick in which will send your mind and body into overdrive and you’ll get a sudden rush of energy which will make you perform better and faster. This tip helps me since I work a lot better under pressure.

Make A To-Do List

Write all the things that you have to get done in your notebook or on your phone. Each time you complete a task you can cross it off and you’ll feel so productive! Get yourself one of these to-do lists. Make a top 3 list as well, write down what the 3 most important for today is, and then you have to get them done. It doesn’t matter about the rest of the tasks (of course you can complete when once you are done with your top 3), but you have to get the tasks complete that’s on your top 3 list.

Look at how pretty this one is!! There is a seperate to-do list for your “3 most important” list that I told you about. You can write your appointments and cross out your water intake and a lot of other things!!

Avoid Multitasking

You should definitely avoid multitasking. If you start multitasking you’ll just get stressed out since you’ll be doing everything at the same time. You’ll just end up getting too exhausted and give up at the end. So stop multitasking!

Create A Schedule

Yes! Create a schedule and get organized! Get yourself a planner if you don’t already have one and start planning your week. You’ll be so much productive and motivated to do stuff. By planning out your week you’ll have an overview of what you have to do for that week and you’ll feel less stressed out since you’ve planned everything out.

Set A Deadline

If you have an assignment due to next Monday make a deadline for yourself to get it done Friday so you have the weekends off. Do this with everything that you have to get done and I promise you that you’ll feel and be more productive! If you find it hard to keep the deadlines, then tell your best friend to check up on you on the day where you are supposed to get that assignment done, this way you’ll more likely get it done since you’ll feel embarrassed if you didn’t when you best friend asks you.

Start Early

Do not begin the day before you are supposed to get it done. Always start at least 1 week before, this way you’ll have 1 week to get it done. You’ll just be more stressed out if you start late and it will not turn out good either.

Plan Your Week On Sunday

Sunday is the last week of the day, so why not plan your week ahead on Sundays? Just sit down, relax, and start planning your week.

Block Out Distractions

Put your phone and laptop on “Do not disturb” mode and start focusing on completing your tasks. “Selfcontrol” is also a really great app to have on your laptop, you can write all the websites that distract you and put a time block on for fx 1 hour, and then it won’t let you go to those websites that you’ve listed for 1 hour even if you delete the app, how amazing is that?!

Take Breaks

It is always important to take breaks so that you don’t burn yourself out. Work for 1-2 hours and then take a 15 min break where you eat something or go out for a walk, just do something that’s not work-related.

Learn To Say No

It can be hard to say no if your friends call you and ask you if you want to go out to shop, you really want to say yes but you can’t because you have a lot of work to do, then say no! Just tell your friend that you have a lot to do but maybe you can find another day, and I am sure your friend will understand that!

Sleep Well

It’s so important to get 7-9 hours of sleep every day. You will most definitely not be able to concentrate if you don’t get enough sleep and you’ll just be lazy all day, and we don’t want that. Drink a cup of tea or a glass of water and read a book before you go to bed. Get to bed before 12 am and wake up at 7-8 am.

Take A Day Off

As the title says, take a day off. Most people take Sundays off to just relax and enjoy family time, and you should too! Do not work at all that whole day, go to the beach, go out with your friends or just enjoy your day off and relax at home with your friends and/or family. It’s important to take at least a day off to focus on yourself and treat yourself. You can also make your day off into a spa day, how fun? 😉

Don’t Waste Time Waiting

I am sure you know when you go out shopping and you are waiting in a really long line to pay for your things, you just start scrolling on Instagram, etc but instead of doing that and wasting your time go to your email and reply to emails that you’ve put off or you didn’t have time to reply to, now you’ve got the time! Don’t waste your time sitting in your dentist’s office and watching TikTok videos where you could’ve listened to your favorite podcast and learned something from it!

Avoid Perfection

I know I know I am a perfectionist myself so I totally know that it can be hard to avoid it, but sometimes you just have to. Don’t use a lot of time on something to make it perfect when you have a lot of other things to get done as well, and in the end, it won’t even matter if it’s perfect or not. Try to just let it go and start concentrating on other things. I’m working on this as well and it is haaaard…

Eliminate Half-Work

Sometimes we all just sit there writing a really good essay but then suddenly we take our phone and scroll on TikTok for 30 min and then we remember that we have to get that essay done, I am sure everyone has tried that before. And that’s why should put your phone away and just get rid of all the things that might distract you until you are done with your work.
